Helicopter - The most Expensive Bottle Opener (13 pics)

Helicopter - The most Expensive Bottle Opener -
What to do when you need to open the bottle, but no can opener, but there is a helicopter?
In the continuation of the post instruction.

This is a discussion on Can you please pass me that beer bottle opener? Oh, helicopter would do fine as well! USA vs Japan in the open a beer bottle with a helicopter contest...

Opening a beer with a bottle opener is usually a simple task. However, using a helicopter with an opener attached to it is just making that task more difficult than it needs to be.

Some may call it trick flying, while others the most expensive beer bottle opener in the world, but whatever you decide, using a helicopter to pop open a few beers is very impressive to say the least.

These Creative Face Flower Pots (10 pics)

Funny and Creative Flower Pots by: Good!
Kazakhstan-based advertising agency GOOD! was already well known for creating some really fun and inspiring stuff in the past, and now once again they proved to have a really good sense of humor by introducing these face-pots.

However, as cool as they look, the idea isn’t quite new, and the guys from GOOD! don’t deny it.

“We do not claim this is a novelty idea (there are advertising campaigns based on the effect of combining plant and a human face), but we wanted to implement this technique in the form of a specific object. The trick is that we liked that flower pot and a person’s face have a similar shape, which contributes to their visual association, the effect is complete and pretty funny” – says GOOD! on their website.

And like Jeff from CraziestGadgets has pointed out, the concept is simple enough that anyone with a flowerpot, a closeup portrait photo, some scissors and glue can easily replicate this in their own home. With the right combination of plants and facial expressions, the results can be hilariously awesome.

Interesting Spiral Staircase Photography (16 pics)

Interesting Spiral Staircase Photography
Spiral Staircases can be fun to photograph, playing with the perspective and distortion of a wide angle lens or viewpoint. Photographing people while moving down/up the stairs is a great feature and especially when coupled with a slightly slow shutter speed, possibly a second – depending on the light, using the blur would create a sense of motion in the picture and make it much more interesting!

No word if they’re selling this thing or not, but if you buy it, I’d ask for seatbelts (and maybe airbags too).

Chicken Who Thinks is a Penguin (4 pics)

Standing proudly upright and straight, this chicken that thinks she's a penguin cuts an unusual figure around the farmyard. Bizarrely mimicking the stance of her water-going cousins, the hen - named Mumble - even has smaller than normal wings, just like a penguin. And she never attempts to fly like other chickens in the coop, choosing to waddle from side to side, although she is yet to take a dip in the water.

The discovery of Mumble's unusual manner has also saved her life, with the family which owns her sparing her from the cooking pot. The bird's identity crisis has made her a celebrity in Jiangsu, a province in eastern China where she is owned by farmer Lu Xi. Local media outlets dubbed the chicken Mumble after the main character in the animated film Happy Feet, about a penguin that can't sing so dances instead.

Incredible Pencil Tip Carvings (18 pics)

Incredible Pencil Tip Carvings
Dalton Ghetti has been carving teeny, tiny pencil tip sculptures for 25 years. The New York Times reports,

"Mr. Ghetti, who owns about as many possessions as a monk, is aware how unusual his craft is. He started carving tree bark when he was a child and experimented with everything from soap to chalk before settling on graphite. It’s second nature now, and for 90 percent of his work, all he needs is a sewing needle, a razor blade and a carpenter’s or No. 2 pencil.

'The pencil tip is great; it’s like a pure, very homogenous material,' he said. 'It cuts in the same direction, not like wood, which has a grain. But when I tell people how long it takes, that’s when they don’t believe it. That’s what amazes people more, the patience. Because everything nowadays has to be fast, fast, fast.'"

Insane. Serious patience. Impeccable eye-sight. Incredible motor skills. Apparently Ghetti takes "years and years" to finish each project. Check it out after the jump.

Actors Missed the Roles they Should Have Taken (23 pics)

Many actors turn down roles only to regret it later. Maybe their second thought was correct. Everyone can imagine, for example, Brad Pitt playing Jason Bourne but what about other actors and the roles they refused. Have a look at the photos in this post and decide for yourself was their choice a good one or not.

Hannah turned down the role of Vivian because she thought it was "degrading for the whole of womankind. They sold it as a romantic fairytale when in fact it's a story about a prostitute who becomes a lady by being kept by a rich and powerful man." It also made Julia Roberts a huge star, of course, but good on Daryl for sticking to her guns.
